Las Choyas Geodes are also known as Mexican Coconuts. These geological wonders are found in a two square mile area in Chihuahua, Mexico. They developed in pockets 100 to 200 feet below the Earth’s surface.
This little beauty is flashy. The photo hardly does justice. It is a “Chocolate Coconut” that is filled with smokey quartz crystals that are covered in calcite druzy with some larger calcite crystals added to the mix. It would be a great addition to any collection. This piece measures 3.5”x3.5”x1.5” and weighs 6.4 ounces.
This specimen was cut and polished in our lapidary workshop.
