Las Choyas Geodes are also known as Mexican Coconuts. These geological wonders are found in a two square mile area in Chihuahua, Mexico. They developed in pockets 100 to 200 feet below the Earth’s surface.
This geode is a “Chocolate Coconut”. It is filled with smokey quartz crystals and has two perfectly formed calcite blades near the edge of the crystal formation. This piece measures 4.25”x3.5”x2” and weighs 11.2 ounces.
This specimen was cut and polished in our lapidary workshop.
